Sydney: NSW Inaugural Meeting
The SAAN NSW inaugural meeting took place in a relaxed atmosphere on Friday, 22 May at Yuga Café in Glebe and was attended by approximately 30 persons from both the business as well as the University world.
After welcoming the guests, Roland Stocker gave a presentation on the Swiss education and research landscape and introduced the Swiss Australian Academic Network; its history, its mission and its ambitions. Subsequently, Sandra Margon, International Development Manager Europe with the University of Sydney, gave a short overview about existing funding opportunities within the EU’s Framework Program 7 (Marie Curie, COST, etc.) and about USYD funding opportunities for research collaboration with Switzerland. The formal part was concluded by Nicolas Perren’s presentation of his photograph series 'Scaleless'.
