Sydney: SAAN at CeBIT Australia 2011
"CeBIT Australia" is the leading IT fair in the Asia-Pacific and took place from 31 May to 2 June in Sydney. "CeBIT Australia" was visited by 30,000 people and was opened by the German and Australian Foreign Ministers, Guido Westerwelle and Kevin Rudd.
For the first time, Switzerland had its own pavilion at the "CeBIT Australia", which was visibly easliy distinguishable. SAAN shared the Swiss pavilion with several Swiss firms and organisations and was represented by Mr Niklaus Wagner from the Swiss Embassy in Canberra. Through Mr Wagner, SAAN acted as an information and resources centre on Swiss higher education and research, especially in the area of IT.
Furthermore, the Swiss Ambassador Daniel Woker hosted a cocktail for the Swiss business and science & technology community. All SAAN members in New South Wales were invited and several attended on this occasion.
